Bring on KiteFest 2018!

The air and water temperatures are rising, and the shedding of winter drysuits and 7mm wetsuits means only one thing…It’s time for KiteFest! April 28th and 29th!

So, what is KiteFest, you ask? It’s one of the largest kiteboarding events in the country, originally started as a way for kiteboarders to meet and mingle and demo some great gear. Now in its fourth year, KiteFest has become one of the biggest local parties for kiteboarders of all levels who want to keep up with industry developments and check out the newest gear.

Core kiteboarding clinic

As the kiting community in the Northeast grows, KiteFest is growing along with it!

This year, KiteFest will be double the fun, taking place over two days on Saturday and Sunday, April 28th and 29th. There is already a great lineup of clinics put on by pro riders and brands representatives from some of the most popular kiting brands including Cabrinha, Core, Delta, F-One, HQ, Mystic, Naish, North, and Ozone.

As with previous years, KiteFest is FREE, and anyone who registers and attends is automatically entered into a raffle for some awesome giveaways including $200 or $500 gift cards from almost every participating brand! If you click “going” on our Facebook event page, you can get an extra ticket. Come on…who doesn’t want a chance for free money for their kiting equipment????! If you’re thinking about adding to your quiver or upgrading your board this spring, you can’t afford to miss KiteFest. Even if you don’t win the raffle, you can check out the Gear Sale. Who knows, maybe you’ll find your new favorite kite???

This year’s event will take place in one of two locations*, depending on wind conditions**. So come and hang out with other kiters and soak up the kite love! We can’t wait to see you there!

Caution: Although everyone is welcome, non-kiters might be overwhelmed by the amount of stoke at this event. But definitely bring your surfer friends because Naish and Delta will be showing off their surfing foils.

*Schedule of events (clinics, raffles, etc) will be based on the forecast and posted on the FB event page by Friday 4/27 afternoon.

**Locations: Wind dependent.
For W-NW-N-NE-E winds, the event will be hosted by the Sandy Hook Bay Catamaran Club in Atlantic Highlands, NJ;
For SW-S-SE winds, the event will be hosted by Donovan’s Reef in Sea Bright, NJ.
Exact location for each day will be based on the forecast and announced few days before.

(Free food and beer will be offered if KiteFest is held at the Catamaran Club location, but not at Donovan’s Reef.)
